Turn the heat off. Open a window (this will slow down the drying process and gives the paint time to 'flow out' properly). Have a helper cut in at the trim and you follow with the roller and do the entire wall ceiling to floor, from left to right. Put the paint on the wall in a 'W' shape and then you work back into an area you just finished. If you are using a new roller make sure it is of the shortest nap possible, and wash it in soap and water first to get any loose fibers out that will ruin your finish.

and that's why you should use a flat finish... you don't get that problem.

paint a big x on the wall and then fill in the spaces. also while its drying it might look streaky but it may dry even. and you might need 2 coats.

You need to do a couple of things.
1. You need a high quality roller (Purdy)
2. Don't be cheap when loading the roller with paint (make sure the roller ends are not dripping)
3. Start rolling in a zig-zag fashion (not just up and down) this is the key.
To have equal coverage you'll most likely need to do 2 coats. Good luck.
