How we define a contractor
A contractor is anyone who comes into your home to do some kind of work, whether it's helping you move, installing an air conditioner or renovating your entire home.
Why we do it
Home projects should be exciting, not exhausting. The best way to make the experience (relatively) painless is to find good help, which is hard to do when there are thousands of contractors and few places to find the best ones.
That's where Good People Guide comes in. It's a single source for unbiased recommendations and critiques on contractors of all kinds—big jobs, small jobs and everything in between. We make it easier to find good people who do good work.
How we do it
Being good can't be bought. All of the listings and reviews on Good People Guide come from people like you. They've been through the process, learned some tough lessons, and want to share their honest, objective opinions.
The proof is in the pictures. Reviewers can show off the work they've had done, and people looking for contractors can see pictures to go along with the review.
We're for the people. Good People Guide is designed to help homeowners, not contractors. If a contractor gets a good review, then they're getting the recognition they deserve. If they don't get a good review, then you can read it and decide for yourself if you want to use them. It's that simple.
You can "review the review". When you read a review, you can rate how much you trust it. This 'Member Trust Rating' system encourages members to take their time writing good reviews and helps flag any phony reviews that might be posted by contractors, not real members.
We offer tips and how-to's. Good People Guide also offers guidance for people who are having any kind of work done in their home—design tips, good advice and more. Read and share good advice here.
